services offered by our optometrist in texas city

Adult Eye Care Services

Comprehensive eye exams - Regular comprehensive eye exams are a critical step in maintaining your ocular wellness. This service includes a detailed examination of the interior and exterior of the eye, allowing your optometrist in Texas City to catch lurking problems before they damage your eyesight.

Refractive error diagnosis and treatment - Common refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and (starting in middle age) presbyopia can cause blurred vision and chronic eye strain. Our eye doctor can determine the exact degree of your refractive error and administer the appropriate corrective lens prescription.

Computer vision treatment - Staring at a computer screen for hours can lead to a form of asthenopia (eye fatigue) known as computer vision syndrome. We can provide anti-glare lenses and lifestyle changes to help you overcome eye strain, headaches, and blurred vision.

Glasses and contact lenses - Our optometry center offers single-vision, bifocal, and progressive (multifocal) glasses in a wide variety of styles and frame designs. We can also provide various types of contact lenses, from standard soft contacts to rigid gas permeable models and specialized lenses. Our cosmetic contacts can hide issues such as aniridia (absence of an iris).

Pediatric Eye Care Services

Most optometrists recommend that children receive major pediatric eye exams at 6 months, 3 years and 5 to 6 years of age. Our pediatric eye exams enable us to catch any eye conditions that may affect visual development and learning. We can diagnose such diverse issues as amblyopia, strabismus, retinoblastoma, craniosynostosis, hydrocephalus, congenital cataracts and retinopathy of prematurity.

Specialty Eye Care Services

Advanced eye exams - If our eye doctor detects an eye disease that needs to be treated or managed in the course of a comprehensive eye exam, we can perform more frequent comprehensive eye exams than the usual one per year.

Eye disease treatment - We can help you control conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, hypertensive or diabetic retinopathy, hypercholesterolemia, and central serous retinopathy. We can also treat acute problems ranging from conjunctivitis and viral eye infections to corneal ulceration.

Specialty contacts - Specialty contact lenses can compensate for specific eye conditions that impair vision. We can provide Essilor's SCone or CCone scleral contacts for keratoconus, as well as Rose-K custom-shaped contacts and reverse geometry lenses. Our rigid gas permeable contacts can correct severe/complex refractive errors.

Pre-operative and post-operative care - If you need a surgical eye procedure, our optometry center can provide the necessary pre-operative and post-operative service. We can co-manage cataract removal, intraocular replacement lens surgery, LASIK, refractive keratoplasty, Intacs (for keratoconus) and corrective surgery for strabismus.
